Artists’ Book Seminar

KALEID editions ran an artists’ book seminar on Thursday 12th May 2016 at the Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, Norway’s leading National Academy for the Arts.

Sigrid Calon (the Netherlands), Patrizia Meinhert (Germany) and Jurgen Maelfeyt, Art Paper Editions (Belgium) presented their publishing practices and engaged in a round table discussion chaired by Victoria Browne, Director of KALEID editions. Invited speakers responded to musings on Dispersion (written by Seth Price) and with participation from the audience, exchanged first hand experience of publishing as artistic practice. The seminar concluded with drinks in KHIO’s publishing studio, permitting staff and students to network with visiting artists.

Artists’ Book Exhibition

An exhibition of artists’ books curated in KHiO’s library between 10th – 12th May launched KALEID editions’ annual collection. Thirty-five artists from Belgium, Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom were selected from over two-hundred and fifty submissions.

The collection was promoted to an international audience between 20th – 22nd May at Tate Modern’s Offprint London in the Turbine Hall.
